Today, I registered for the San Diego marathon. I don’t have a plane ticket or hotel reservations, but at least I have my spot in the marathon. One step at a time, I reckon.
First day of marathon training called for a five mile run. So this afternoon, wearily, I snuck away and headed out. My max heart rate today was only 159 today – apropos to my speed. The weather was beautiful, 69 degress and sunny – it seemed odd, I’m normally an early morning runner, but it was a nice change.
Between our company sales meeting, which is lasting until 8 or 9 PM every night and Rowdy’s illness, my energy level is zapped.

I’d also like to send a shout out with congratulations to David, Rae and Naomi who finished the Miami marathon this weekend. They all did awesome!

Good luck with the marathon training. Hope Rowdy gets better soon.
I was going to say that you seem to be getting back into the running stride, but that was before I saw the MOLD GIRL comment. Punk.
I’m thinking about Rowdy you know. In a non-intrusive, Zeus-ish way, of course.
Marathons suck but then I love my 5K’s! LOL Seriously good luck and I am sure you will do well. Remember to have fun and enjoy the training.
Congratulations! It’s all about having a spot in the race, you’re absolutely right. And great new site!
YAY on the training and the sign up!
how is your dog? 🙁
I have been visiting your site for a month or so. I really like the new site!
I am training for the Rock n’ Roll and live here in San Diego.
Good luck!
The web site looks great. That has got to be one of the most beautiful marathons in the country-that will be training worth the trip. So, sorry about your dog-hope the docs figure something out.
It’s good to have a race as something to help motivate your training. When is the SD marathon? Isn’t it fairly warm down there?
