Why I am STILL full of happiness

by Runner Susan on February 21, 2006

in Full of Happiness

  • It’s cold, windy, rainy and I’ve been running on the dreadmill
  • My left outside knee still hurts and my hypochondriac self is telling me it’s ITB Syndrome
  • My right heel hurts and for the same reason I think it is plantar fascitis
  • I was rear-ended by an uninsured motorist with no license this morning (I’m fine btw)
  • My PMS should be over but it’s not and I’m bloated like stupid monkey-skunk

Sounds like a peach of a day!

5 Christine February 21, 2006 at 3:58 pm

Ooh, yuck. Might be time for some retail therapy.

Susan I love your warped sense of humor. I laughed myself silly reading all this.

Mama said they’ll be days like this, they’ll be days like this my Mama said… **BANG** took care of that cd, didn’t I?

It sounds like you need a good stiff drink. Good times must be on the way. Do you need new running shoes by the way? Sometimes when you start feeling all the aches and pains, it might be an indication that the shoes are failing….just a thought.

I hate to say welcome to the ITB Club, but welcome to the ITB club. If it gets worse, let me know and I’ll send along all my cures:) Now have a glass of wine and whine. You deserve it.

Monkey-skunk…now is that like a fucktard? I once had PMS for a full year…thankfully I had my husband to take it out on.

Get that knee/leg checked out…before it turns into something more serious and you’re forced to stay home all day with nothing better to do but dress up your dog.

11 CoachH February 21, 2006 at 6:41 pm

Does sound like ITB…Better get the stretches done. They will definitely help with flexibility… Glad you are having a laugh :)

12 RunDave February 21, 2006 at 6:50 pm

Is that a rhetorical question? I’m really bad at picking up on rhetoric, that and sarcasm. Hope your insurance covers the damage. Maybe you should get all that body stuff checked out.

13 Andrea February 21, 2006 at 6:51 pm

i think you need some chocolate AND a stiff drink!

take care of yourself….

14 Hilda February 21, 2006 at 7:32 pm

My report is the same, ITBS left leg but some controlled and my right heel is always bad… just learning to live with it.

15 buckeyerunner February 21, 2006 at 7:36 pm

Ouch! I am glad you are okay. Was the uninsured driver in an Escalade? Or a Hummer? Or some other equally expensive car, which doesn’t leave room in the budget for insurance?

Glad you are still full of happiness!

16 Cliff February 21, 2006 at 8:34 pm

As Elle said…

where is Michael? :)

17 Rob February 21, 2006 at 8:51 pm

What is it with ITBS? It could just be PMS, which may cause a psychological reaction that seems like ITBS, but is really just paranoia, or perhaps a condition of winter related depression. BTW I am not a psychiatrist, but I often have weird thoughts so I thought I would share them with you. Maybe you need some…well lets not go there.

See, your IT band is persnickity too!

19 Thomas February 22, 2006 at 3:33 am

Would new shoes help?

20 kim February 22, 2006 at 4:03 am

I must be channeling you..I think I have planter fascitis, shin splints and a bone spur on my ankle. I really must quit reading the runner’s websites on foot pain….hahaha…probably just my body rebeling because it shouldn’t be forced to learn to run at age 42. Hope you leg feels better soon!

21 ihateToast February 22, 2006 at 5:30 am

are you sure that wasn’t Bolder trying to get a closer look at your tushy?

22 strewth February 22, 2006 at 5:46 am

Perhaps you just need a rest (AND some chocolate)- do hope all those aches and pains clear up soon. Hope you don’t get any whiplash from your accident. You need a holiday – come visit sunny Oz!!

23 Curly Su February 22, 2006 at 7:20 am

I felt IT BS for the first time EVER last night…not a happy camper, but at least I can relate to all you guys now, eh?

24 Yvonne February 22, 2006 at 7:24 am

sorry you’re so ‘happy’ Susan. Things can only go up from here, though, right?!

25 Amy February 22, 2006 at 8:07 am

Sounds like the roaming tumor is back, if you ask me.

26 Jen February 22, 2006 at 8:41 am

Oy! You’re having a rough one! Someone get this woman some chocolate, STAT!

The PF will be fine with direct ice. (I mean, take that sock of, grit your teeth and stick it on there. I get those twinges all the time, and ice is GREAT!) You can even do this during dinner (put ice on floor – hopefully an ice pack… the lunchbox ones are perfect! and stick your foot on there… just make sure the doggie doesn’t come up and lick it, lol)

Hope the rest of your day goes better! :)

27 runninturnip February 22, 2006 at 10:05 am

Having a period sucks Monkey Butt! Why can’t we just turn it on and off manually when we want to have kids? Hope your day goes better and that whoever rear-ended you gets his/her act together.

28 marathena February 22, 2006 at 11:34 am

I had no idea!! I hope everything is okay!!! Cowtown this weekend??? Good luck if you do it! I know you will go great!! My sis got rear ended too, it sucks!! Dreadmill running…wow that’s impressive!!

29 iliketoast February 22, 2006 at 2:46 pm

ahhhh this reminds me about a funny story …….. a stupid bloated monkey-skunk went into a bar and ordered a drink and the bartender said …..

come to think of it, you might not find this quite as amusing, so I’ll shut-up!

30 Bolder February 22, 2006 at 3:58 pm

i put Ms. Foam in the mail to you stat… be gentle with her at first, and then apply your whole body weight and get rougher… it’s put a smile back on my face understandably…

(sorry to anyone who hasn’t been reading my blog that just read that… i’m surely going to hell)

31 bolder February 22, 2006 at 3:59 pm

p.s. seriously, you live in Flower Mound?

32 Rae February 22, 2006 at 5:01 pm

Oh no!! Uninsured motorists suck. How bad was the wreck?

Are you still doing the half this weekend. I think I have Plant F too and I am freakin’!!!

33 celeste February 23, 2006 at 1:04 am

:S Yikes. You’ve had a bad past couple of days. Don’t ya just love PMSing? I’m kidding of course. Gah. My periods have gotten quite irregular. I have to check up with my doctor on that. Oops. Too much info shared. It’s late and I should probably get some shut eye. Feel better! And that’s an order! :D
