The skirt has arrived

in Just for Fun

So far we’ve received many charitable donations – and we are thrilled – it’s all for a good cause – please stop by Mark’s blog and check out the cool folks who have already donated and let him know if you have made a donation. We still need many more to get Mark in a skirt. Actually, getting him in the skirt was easy – getting him to race in the skirt remains the difficult part.

My Running Skirt was waiting for me in the mailbox when I arrived home yesterday . . . it is very cute. I will run in it this weekend and post my review on Sunday! Stay tuned.

Hmmm… I’m not sure about this running skirt thing…

3 Joe April 20, 2006 at 10:05 am

At first I though “Yeah, right. Skirts for running.” Then I clicked on the running skirts link and saw those two gals modelling the skirts and I thought “Gee, those gals actually look pretty hot. Oh, yeah, and the skirts aren’t bad either.” I can’t wait to see some running babes running around in those sassy things this summer! Bring it on, I say, bring it on!

I crewed for Rob at CC100 last summer. He was following a woman in a running skirt and had many positive things to say about it – it may have been the first thing he mentioned at the aid station! Oh, and he still mutters about it now and then.

I AM WITH FLATMAN TOO!!!

8 Chris April 20, 2006 at 12:14 pm

The skirt doesn’t exist unless there are pictures as proof!

9 Kate April 20, 2006 at 12:39 pm

Good lord, Susan. For all the pimping running products you do on your journal, you should get free merchandise!

It is a cute skirt though.

10 Susan April 20, 2006 at 12:46 pm

Raise your hand if you think Kate is a genius. Why did I not think of this sooner?

11 Jessica April 20, 2006 at 1:15 pm

I’ll be very curious to get your report on what it’s like to run in!

And I thought you were getting it free? What a rip off! ;)

12 mark April 20, 2006 at 1:16 pm

I can’t wait to read your report!! I may hold off on ordering mine until I read what you have to say.

And you better get these guys a picture or who knows what they might do.

I’m excited to hear your report. I really poo-poo’d the running skirt but then I realized that it might solve a problem for me. I’m one of those women whose shorts rise up in the middle when I run. I hate that. I think the skirt might solve that problem.

16 mark April 20, 2006 at 2:59 pm

I hear they have pockets too…just sayin’.

17 mark April 20, 2006 at 3:00 pm

What a great idea! Looking forward to how that skirt worked out for ya. I almost bought one, but I thought nah…Now a testamonial might help!

20 susan April 20, 2006 at 4:39 pm

My first thought was NO way. But I’m obviously affected by advertising, and with all the RBF media blitz, I’m beginning to be swayed…..

21 susie April 20, 2006 at 4:39 pm

and I love my Rowdy shirt:)

Looking forward to reading your review. Do they send them to Australia?

They look great. I also have the problem of my shorts riding up my legs, so this just may be the alternative I’m looking for.

I was running last night with a young female friend and was talking about the skirt, and Mark wearing it. She came up with an idea that it might be ideal for guys to wear – No Chaffing :)
I’ll vote for images as well.

If I got a skirt, would it make my bum look big?

26 ewen April 21, 2006 at 2:35 am

I am staying tuned.

27 Thomas April 21, 2006 at 2:49 am

It’s not just the report we’re keen on, it’s photos we want to see. And I’m positive I’m talking for every single one of you male fans here.

28 Liv April 21, 2006 at 3:02 am

The running skirt: the ultimate woman’s solution to chafing and wedgies, or the ultimate man’s ploy to see hot runner woman in cute little skirt? Just judging by the comments… :)

29 jcerunner April 21, 2006 at 3:08 am

I’m sure the running skirt will fit you more than the Blogfather!! ;-) I understand it doesn’t look very confortable for running, but who knows, tell us on Sunday!!

30 runninturnip April 21, 2006 at 8:57 am

Hmmmm, not sure if I could run in a skirt, what about thigh chafing?

31 commodore April 21, 2006 at 12:57 pm

I 30 the motion the photos

32 Rob April 21, 2006 at 3:46 pm

Last year in my 100 mile race there was a hot little brunette gal in a hot pink skirt who passed me around mile 30, when I was in a bit of a rut (Yes I have to add this in) and let me tell you, I never felt so motivated in my life to get my butt in gear to stay right behind her for as long as I could. I wanted to run the rest of the race in that position. God works in mysterious ways, Amen for running skirts.

33 Rob April 21, 2006 at 3:47 pm

I didn’t realize Michelle (backofpack) sold me out already. Did I mention the hot pink skirt and the hotty wearing it?

34 iHateToast April 21, 2006 at 5:58 pm

me thinks you need to adjust the key in your shoe laces when you wear these skirts. think about it. what a way to guarantee that you do come in ahead of many men. you can totally anna pornikova yourself! i just got the notice that mine are coming. oooh the joy of it all!
i think rowdy needs to don the skirt, too!

35 DGC April 21, 2006 at 8:02 pm

Comments and photos would be great Susan!

36 Sarah Elaine April 21, 2006 at 10:22 pm

What will they think of next??? I think you’re going to inspire a whole generation of runners… Instead of “pimping their ride”, they’d be… what… “pimping their hide”????

37 atalanta June 12, 2007 at 7:07 pm

Susan, I don’t know how to get in touch with you… email me for that promo code you asked about…
