Not only is the humidity causing serious hair trauma, it’s seriously killing my feet.

Bad Ben August 9, 2006 at 9:28 am

Yowza! This would be a good pic to send to footfetish.com, if I were so inclined.

When it’s so hot/humid out, pay special attention to electrolyte intake. When you’re low on electrolytes, your hands and feet will tend to swell, thereby increasing the possibility of shoe to foot friction, and blistered feet.
Remember the three causal factors that cause blisters: Moisture, heat, and friction. Eliminate or decrease at least one of these causal factors, and the chances for blisters forming becomes nil.

ouch, is all I can say about this.

Rob August 9, 2006 at 9:47 am

With that look I think you could be an extra in Christina Aguillera’s Dirty video. You look likke you’re about to go hit the punching bag for awhile. HOT!!!

Sara August 9, 2006 at 9:50 am

OUCH! I think that means you deserve some fun new shoes. :)

ali August 9, 2006 at 10:19 am

Have the MAC advertising reps phoned yet? I seriously think you should star in a series of commericals.

The Devil August 9, 2006 at 10:38 am

THANK GOD THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SMELL-O-VISION!!!

bolder August 9, 2006 at 10:41 am

aham23 August 9, 2006 at 10:53 am

Amy August 9, 2006 at 11:33 am

Dude, that is seriously gross.

joggerblogger August 9, 2006 at 11:40 am

Minging! :-) My daughters feet have all peeled off today as she has been playing barefoot basketball…

21stCenturyMom August 9, 2006 at 11:45 am

One word – Bodyglide.

I could feel my feet slipping back and forth in my shoes during the marathon and I knew my socks were wet and yet – no blister. None.

Bodyglide!

Chris August 9, 2006 at 12:58 pm

I don’t get it? What’s the iMac have to do with your foot? I’m guessing it has a built in webcam or something?

Hilda August 9, 2006 at 1:46 pm

You look like a girl with that look!

jkrunning August 9, 2006 at 2:53 pm

That looks painful. I think I see new flip flops in your future.

marathena August 9, 2006 at 4:26 pm

Hey great run/walk this morning!! Friday~right??

CindyLouWho August 9, 2006 at 4:29 pm

Susan we scale one fence and looks what happens!

fe-lady August 9, 2006 at 4:50 pm

Uh..blaming the humidity on a blister? I think the heat has gone to your head… (Just kidding! It’s awful over here too…but we are wimps and complaining about “big hair” when it gets to 32% humidity!)
Two words…WEAR SOCKS! :-)

Teacherwoman August 9, 2006 at 5:56 pm

Hehehe…I got one of those right on the bottom of my foot below my big toe yesterday! Fun times!

turnip August 9, 2006 at 6:19 pm

I hear you on the heat. It is brutal here and seriously cutting into my training!

neese August 9, 2006 at 7:12 pm

it’s hard to feel sorry for your foot because i’m distracted by your great expression! love the photo!

david August 9, 2006 at 7:14 pm

It was bad enough that yours was the first blog I visited today and I got the foot in the face treatment. Geesh.
Something is just not right about the location of that blister. You’ve got abrasions going on where I would not expect them. You obviously didn’t do enough barefoot walking around up in Indiana. A tough sole would never let that happen.
On the sympathetic side, I hope it heels up quickly and isn’t painful. Poor baby.

Edwin August 9, 2006 at 8:29 pm

Bodyglide or possibly vaseline on your feet will help. Of course, it does look like a good reason for new shoes.

iliketoast August 9, 2006 at 9:35 pm

“That’s a side of you we haven’t seen before.”

Had to say that …. I’ve been holding this comment in for a long time and thank you for the opportunity to use it.

buckeyerunner August 10, 2006 at 4:19 am

Hey – I have one of those in the exact same spot on my left foot! It hurts!!!

Rebekah August 10, 2006 at 6:18 am

I get those too..nothing I do stops them, I just tell people I have “sensitive” feet.

Runderwoman August 10, 2006 at 9:10 am

I have matching ones! Anything over 5 miles does it! And even bodyglide/bandaids in combination don’t help prevent them! Do you have flat feet too?

IHateToast August 10, 2006 at 3:26 pm

you look like Joy from My Name is Earl in this photo.

Nice beaster. Now for a photo of your husband’s feet! (i can be veeery focused)

Christy August 11, 2006 at 1:00 pm

Ouch! Humidity sucks the big one! :-) First, it was making my shirt chafe my arms, next my sports bra has been chafing my, um, girls for the past 3 long runs…what’s next?

Georgi September 9, 2006 at 6:33 am
