That should get some interesting hits.
Yesterday I meet my friend Cindy for a bleacher session and a few easy laps around the track. Massoman and BW were doing their track workout. By the end of our workout session the field and the track were filling up with members of the local high school football team. They looked so tired and groggy at 6 AM. Cindy and I joked about how they were probably up until midnight and had Twinkies and sodas for breakfast. Oh, the good old days.
It’s still so humid and hot – even at 5:30 AM. I’m not 100% sure, but I think we are going on 40 days in a row of 100+ temperatures. I guess that’s what I get for living in Texas, but I just don’t remember a summer that has ever been this hot. Maybe I say that every year. The pollution is also very bad and my sinuses are not cooperating with my lungs. I like breathing, but I’m doing a very good job of it right now.
Heat or no heat, it’s time to get moving. I met with a coach yesterday to get a plan for The Half in November. She’s an awesome lady, and I look forward to working with her. If you get a chance check out her profile – she’s done some amazing marathons, including Antarctica. I’m really going to make an effort to follow the plan. I have a bad habit of altering the plan to suit my needs and it doesn’t necessarily follow any plan other than Susan’s lifestyle. Which as we all know isn’t very productive at the moment. So. The plan must remain a plan and I must not make it a Susan plan.
Yes, I make no sense. It’s okay. Stick to the plan, start logging food again, more Donkey miles, and sticking to the plan. I’ll go into more details about the plan that is a plan tomorrow.
Cuties. The both of ya!
Look at those paws! He’s gonna be a big Donkey!
donkey porn — the search engines gonna bring you a whole new crop of readers!
good to see you smilin’.
did i miss how the new 4-legger ended up being called Donkey anyway?
He is cool – What kindda dog is he?
Hey Susan. I just recently started reading your journal. It hasn’t quite been 40 days in a row. I think that’s the total count for the summer so far. It has been a rough one this year. I’m tired of being sweaty all the time and I’m anxious for some Fall weather . . . although that might not hit until December!! Hang in ther!!
That pic must make Rowdy jealous 🙂
SOOO cute. i love Donkey.
twinkies and soda for breakfast … I miss those days, hmmmm maybe not.
donkey is adorable!
Cute pic!! Way to go on meeting with a coach!! I am dragging my feet on what to do….marathon, century ride, or more triathlons. When I can get to that point I will meet with a coach too!!
I miss you!! We haven’t run in like a week!! I could go for some short runs if you want! Call me so we can decide when to go!! And we still need to swim more, I still have one pass for the gym.
I miss those high school days. Taco Bell late at night and twinkies and Dr. Pepper for breakfast. Yummmm
Susan,
I am glad that you made a plan to get a plan! I am also hungry for Taco Bell. Surely they have something that is Weight Watcher friendly! Yeah right!
Stick to the running plan,
relax and don’t worry about food logging just be responsible to yourself not to overeat!
Oh Susan!Your obsessing aren’t you?
hey, your eyes match!
Hi Susan,
You were one of the first to come and post a comment (in french) on my blog a year ago. I still visit our blog once in a while but I have a question for you. Since you’re the queen of the running blog (at least in my opinion), do you know any french running blog ? If you have 2 minutes, let me know.
How very cute. The dog looks nice, too.
Your right, you need to work the plan and plan the work. Heat is just something to deal with.
Stay with the plan!
I feel for you regarding the heat. Hang in there.
Cute doggie!
Donkey is looking good, if not a little puzzled by your camera fetish.
Yep, heat and pollution – not a good combo for running. BTW, your coach sounds awesome!
I think this summer has been hotter than the past too. Whew!
LOL. Any plan is better than chaos! Nice pic…
I wish the highschool I run at had bleachers that I was able to run on. Ours are metal and there is a fence separating them from the track.
Donkey is getting big.
Another question for you;-) I have noticed a lot of the RBF bloggers have a running log on the first page of their blog. Where did you get yours?
Thanks!
That puppy has no idea what he’s in for 😉
Sticking to a plan is rough. But maybe its easier if you are paying someone to make the plan!
he’s adorable! i want!
That’s exciting Susan [about the coach I mean].
Darn – I forgot to try Twinkies – I’ll have to come back.
it’s only fair to get donkey wet with michael.
Very nice dog and … sponsored (Nike) Susan. About the weather, also in Italy we don’t remember a summer as hot as this one.
Cool — enjoy having a coach for advice and follow the plan!
Darlin’ pooch. Twinkies at 6 am …. ah, the good old days.
you know, bleachers sound kinda fun. i should give the bleacher workout a try.
umm. whats the bleacher workout?!
and i hear ya on the plan. i’ve altered many a plan to become an A.Maria plan which is less of a plan and more of “yeah. this sounds good today” way of training.
good luck with the new plan! and what half is in november?
ok thats a cute dog..
Cheers.
Rice.
omg…the pooch is TOO CUTE. No way could I ever handle 100+ weather. Oof.
Now THAT is a dog!
Aaaahhh memories:) Good luck on the plan!
Marty
I like the matching eyes, too!
Can’t wait to hear about that plan. I am going to check out your coach’s page, too.
I don’t know about twinkies and pop for breakfast, but I did have some last night before I went to bed along with some ice cream. And I tend to alter plans to meet my lifestyle needs as well. I am not sure how well it works, but such is life.
this morning mark asks, “has runnersusan posted?” i had to give him the disappointed-mother sigh. sigh… she needs to post. i’ll have to pester her. i believe there is a nosusan limit and she’s crossed it.
post! post more! you know you want to, saucy wench.
A man walks into a bar and slaps the guy sitting on a stool in the back and says … “G’day Donkey” ….. the guy goes to the bathroom and the bar tender asks the guy on the stool … “Why does he call you Donkey?” …. the guy on the stool leans over and says … “Hee-Haw, Hee-Haw, Hee-Halways calls me Donkey!”
