Today’s run was an attempt to do-over yesterday’s pathetic tempo run. I felt much faster today and when I got home I was anxious to plug in Garmina to see what my splits were.
Mile 1 – 10:53
Mile 2 – 10:26
Mile 3 – 9:43
Mile 4 – 10:06
Mile 5 – 10:45
Sigh. I was disappointed. I was positive miles 2, 3 & 4 were in the 9s. Oh well, at least it felt faster.

How are you deciding on your tempo pace? Remember that pace recommendations and online calculators often fail to take into account important factors, such as wind resistance, hills and hangovers.
Is Donkey aware you’re running this fast without him?
Ok, I was wondering why you were posting so much then I realized about the whole post a day thingy. It’s hard to keep up with a post a day as well. Keep being speedy.
post more and run more. you will get faster. later.
That run looks good to me. I’d be thrilled – so there!
You are pressing a lot of weight – you will be SuperSusan in a matter of months.
soon you’ll not be passing support-hose lady, but coming up to her, offering her a lift and piggy-backing her all the way to the finish line. as she’ll be on your back, your foot will cross first and you’ll still beat her.
Susan, Your run this morning was great!! I haven’t seen you run that strong in awhile. Keep it up. You are doing great!
Compared to me you were sprinting so I made you seeeeem like you were moving faster than you were.
Susan,
I feel so proud for you! You are such a work in progress! I enjoy so much being a part of this! You rock girl!
Awesome run, Susan. YOU ROCK!
Mile 3 was good 🙂
I already know how reading about weights can be boring. When I want to sleep, I just read that part of CJ’s blog.
when i squat i never get 50lbs … what are you eating?
I think you should drop the poundage and increase the reps up to 20 per set. Try lateral leg raises as well – lie on your side and lift the higher leg up and down for 20 reps – no weights required.
I hate that feeling when you think you are going faster than the stupid clock says. I wish we could throw away clocks along with the scales.
Oooh. Look at her muscles!
Hey, what’s your heart rate doing on those tempo runs? How about a graph or sumpin???
