I ran a half marathon on November 5th. Since then, the longest distance I’ve run has only been five miles . . . and this week, I’ve only run 4 miles once.
This is sad, but what is sadder is the fact that I’m running the White Rock Half Marathon on Sunday. I guess I shouldn’t expect a PR . . . or to finish without keeling over from oxygen depravation. Or for that matter, even finish.
those legs will carry the day…and you to the finish. not to worry.
Cool. Now you have nothing to worry about! Have FUN!
I ran a 1/2 marathon in October. The longest I’ve run since is just under 6 miles and that was only once. Mostly I run about 6 miles a week. I’m really glad I’m not running a 1/2 on Saturday but I could and so can you.
Oh, you’ll do it! and with no problem! I’m just worried about the weahter, what will i wear!?!
Since the Marine Corps Marathon (Oct. 29), the furthest (or is it farthest?) I’ve run is 16 miles. And I’m going for the whole 26.2 on Sunday. Misery loves company. See you out there!
for some reason I had it in my head that you were doing the marathon. Pshew. I would’ve been a bit worried considering your uh light training schedule lately. You’ll do fine w/the half marathon. Good luck!
i still can not stop laughing about your ass’s ass! you can do it. later.
Forget finish..just go and have fun.
Speaking of asses…just go out there and kick some ass! Have a great time and try not to take it too seriously!
You have strong legs girls – you’ll be fine.
Make your primary goal to have as much fun as possible – maybe you should wear raindeer antillers (sp?) on your head to make sure you do 😉 Looking forward to seeing the photo !
hey we’ll be running together…think twin thoughts and we’ll carry each other through. and we can both die at the end….and live to laugh about it.
This Houstonian feels you will do just fine. The goal is to finish, which you know and the medal is the same regardless of your time. My wife is running the half and I will be doing the full and it looks like it is going to be a great day for an easy jog!
Just go out and have a good time. You started running because it was fun, so make this half a fun event. You can worry about PRs next year.
You will finish and have fun in the process. I know it.
Hey, you’ve been there done that … I’m sure you’ll finish fine!
Don’t worry. If I can do it with blah training, so can you. I’ll be running a half-marathon on Sunday as well. Afterwards, let’s compare notes and lick our wounds …
Is there a blogger meeting on sunday?
If nothing else be pretty. (No barfing)
Finish strong. You can do it!
At least you’re not as bad as Bad Santa.
Mental imagery might work. Save your five miles up for the last five 😉
Don’t be silly. You’ll finish.
You will finish. The rest sometimes makes you even stronger. Good luck:)
Enjoy your race, take it easy and have fun.
Susan,
Sorry I couldn’t join y’all for lunch. Good luck at The Rock tomorrow.
Stay tuned…
I know you will do fine. You are quite the tenacious one!
Have a great time!
but you did it! and you can only get better!
You did it! Congratulations! Look forward to your race report.
