Look away husband. Look away.

in Training Runs

So there has been a mixture running, and lifting, and boot camp. The running has been a lot like run/walking because I’m still having some foot pain. I’m working through the pain because it is improving. I’ll try a longer run this weekend to see how it goes. Who knows, I may be running a marathon before you know it.

I’ve also been doing a lot of weight lifting with my good friend Cindy. So much so that it prompted Michael to sent me an email with an attachment about an Indian runner failing a gender test. Beneath it he noted: “this is what happens to runners who lift too much”. This is why I adore my husband. He knows how to make me smile. But secretly, I think he is afraid that someday I will look like this. I’m sure he has nothing to worry about, but you decide. I have a long way to go. I won’t even comment about my waist looking like a tree trunk, because there have been enough RS pity parties. That’s done. I’m moving on.

You’ll also see a couple pictures of Sparky who trains at the gym right before Cindy and I do our lifting. I had to throw those in because he looks so happy being tortured. You’ll also notice a blonde man pretending to be a personal trainer. Don’t be fooled, that’s really the devil.

oooh, i like the first photo of the MMPLGs.

how can you fail a gender test? i figure, if you have the giny, all the Ys don’t matter as long as you’re not taking ‘roids and stuff. so this poor thing used running to get over her looking like a boy in school only to lose her medal?

man…

do you think Anita’s husband hangs his helmets over her sink? no way!

Susan,
I am so thrilled to be going on the MMPLG journey with you! As far as our husbands are concerned…I think they secretly are afraid we could kick their butts! Susan you too are…Strong Like Hell!

Well – I think if you WANTED to you could look like that she Hulk but I think you don’t. I think it’s great that you are working out and I’m guessing Michael thinks it’s great but secretly worries that one of these days, when you see his helmet over the sink you will kick his ass.

ps – that’s a sad story about that Indian runner. She has lived her whole life with an XY chromosome problem and now it is in the news. It must be very humiliating for her.

Thank you thank you thank you for NOT posting pics of that creepy looking body builder woman person directly on your blog. I don’t think I would have been able to stay here long enough to comment before I vomited!

So far I think you retain all your best feminine characteristics. I am sure Michael has nothing to worry about and you will remain the one and only Hot! RunnerSusan and not the manly version that you could become as noted by that scary picture of that woman.

Note to self: do not click on links that say “I will look like this” when they are preceeded by content involving women failing gender tests. I’m going to have nightmares now.

I don’t think we have to worry about Anita’s “husband” hanging any helmets over the sink…

I am impressed with the iron you are throwing around in those pics! Looks like a cool place to train. Have a great day.

I dont think you will ever fail a gender test.

That devil man looks like he is going to really get you guys into shape (yet help you maintain your feminity.) Those other woman (he/shes) scare me – the indian woman/man and the body builder.

I can’t see you ever looking like that, Susan.

Good luck with the long run on the weekend :)
