Today, my baby turns 10. And there is no way for me to possibly express how much joy, pride and love enter my heart every time I look at her. Even when she is doing gymnastics on the sofa with a mouthful of fruit loops and dirty soccer shoes.
As an only child, we probably spoil her a little more than most. Especially Grandma, WHO BOUGHT HER HAMSTERS! And in one week, they’ve only escaped twice, but that is beside the point, because she is, hands down, the sweetest spoiled child you will ever meet.
We celebrated Kenza’s birthday with a Makeover Sleepover party. Kenza and 3 of her good friend went to the salon and had makeovers and then we went to a hibachi dinner. I was really worried the fake hair might catch fire. But everyone survived long enough to eat cake, torture hamsters and gossip until 4 AM.
It was a good birthday, even though every year older she turns reminds me that the tortured puberty years are just around the corner and that I am also a year older. But if she stays this sweet, I won’t mind getting older with her.
I love the photo of the flame – all jumpback…
The time fly’s past so quickly, remember to enjoy the journey – I don’t know what I’d do with out my funsized nutter in my life 😀
Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KENZA!! I hope everything went swimmingly well!!! We still need to go get crab legs sometime!!
You are making great memories for your daughter, which is so important. My daughter is 18 and will be graduating from high school next week, and I totally understand your depth of love and pride.
I say you take those hamsters in their balls with you next time you run on the treadmill 🙂
Oh lordy! You guys are going to have your hands full 🙂
Awe, happy b-day to the kidlet.
happy b-day to kenza!
Happy Birthday to Kenza. That last picture shows that she knows what a 10 year old makeover is really about. You go girl!
And yes – they do grow up fast. And they they get married and MOVE AWAY! The little blighters – the nerve!
I can see where she gets her table manners from….love that picture.
Too much fun! I love the pick with the fire! Made me chuckle!
Happy Birthday Kenza! Doesn’t time fly!
What a wonderful post. I love the photos. Happy 10th Birthday to Kenza!
Wow! Happy Birthday Kenza!! I was an only child for the first 10 years of my life and even during my tough teen years I was always super tight with my mom. And don’t worry, you can’t spoil a perfect kid!
Happy Birthday Kenza!
Don’t forget to feed those hamsters or you will have nightmares! I know from experience.
i want blue tasty boogers!
That’s bath picture is for sure one of the cutest baby pics evah!
All those birthdays in the past week! It sounds like you and Kenza will survive the teen years just fine. She is very lucky to have you as a mom. You’ll be reminding her of that in about 4 more years.
Did they all go the World-O-Turquoise Shirt Shop too?
Judging from that second photo, maybe she did sit a little too close to the flames.
10 is a good age. Happy downunder birthday Kenza! What’s with the aqua? Favourite colour? Don’t you just love how we Aussies spell those two words!
Wonderful post Suz! I know my kid had a blast! Happy Birthday Kenza!
She doesn’t seem like a spoiled only child. I think her mama enjoys the spoiling more than K notices.
Hey look! She’s growing up with your 80’s hair!
Happy Birthday Kenza!
Happy Birthday, Kenza! She’s the same age as my oldest who’s getting almost as tall as me at that age. Sounds like a great birthday party. Love the pictures!
