Today I ran 5 miles with my good friend Cindy. It was a beautiful day to run, no wind and a nice 68-degree temperature. Although, with all the rain we’ve had, the mosquitoes were unforgiving, but a little bug spray took care of that.
But to be forgiving to myself, I want to easy my way back into long runs before the miles creep up on me. So, we took the ten and two Galloway approach. Next Sunday will be six of ten and ones. I also want to add a day of speed work into the mix, maybe on Wednesday. It is a start, a small one, but it’s nice to feel like Runner Susan again.
That’s a great start. Get the routine going.
Suz,
You did great today! Glad to be a part of it. It felt like old times…really good! Keep it up!
just don’t lose touch with stripsforyoutube susan or tabledancing susan.
LOL. I was lucky enough to meet the Toasts recently.
Anyhoo, that’s a great start. Keep on truckin’ babe.
Time to update your masthead!
Nice job, Susan!
Great idea to ease back into it. You don’t want to hurt yourself. I’m glad that you had a good run.

It’s much easier to get into a running routine when the weather doesn’t suck! Have fun.
You’re getting smarter in your running old age. A good lesson for all to remember about easing back into training.
After only a week or two of semi-slacking I found my eight miler on Sunday had my ITB yelling at me – a classic example of overuse of unseasoned muscles.
