Oh Boo! That is too bad sister Amy didn’t get in. But, you can still make the trip to NY together and she can cheer you on. She can enter another marathon and you can cheer her on.
Has she considered running for a charity? I just got an email from the American Legacy Foundation advertising 50 spots for fundraisers at the $2500 level.
2 suggestions – Beg! That is number 1 and of course TNT or probably many other charities have slots. With sister Amy’s remarkable web skills she could hold a fundraising raffle for a blog facelift or a website or a cool graphic or something along those lines. Fundraising made easy.
I’m thinking sister ‘I will NEVER run a marathon’ Amy is relieved so get that fundraising plan together STAT!
If she were closer to NYC, Amy would have more options. I think the charity route is most recommended. I’m very excited for you, but I know your own excitement is tempered by your dilemma. I wish you well trying to find a way to make it work for both of you.
Why do I think Amy wanted in more than you? Now you have to get serious about training. When will you been all moved in to the new house so you can dedicate yourself?
I know somebody who knows somebody. What is Amy’s registration name?
Suz,
I am so excited for you. I can’t wait to start training with you. This is going to be so cool.

So sorry about your sister. Perhaps she could do a charity run. I’m sure she could raise the money with an awesome helper such as yourself.
In a more computer related note, a blog I read (http://www.jennsylvania.com/) is looking for someone to help her with her page design, you should check it out. It seems right up your alley.
Congrats on getting in! I know a few people around these parts that got in as well.

Congrats on getting in! I was wondering if they had something against Texans, because everyone I know who entered didn’t get in. 🙁

Congrats on getting in! Jank could be right about the charity, I know that’s one way to get into to Chicago after it’s full.
There are a lot of options. http://www.ingnycmarathon.org/about/charity_partners.php

Congrats on getting in. I don’t have any advice on getting your sis in, but you know… races need volunteers. 🙂
WOO HOO – you’re coming to NY (you are, aren’t you?!) CONGRATS. Can we meet up on Staten Island?
The three ‘C’ routes are open to your sister – charity, cheating or cheering.

Run in an animal costume. One of you can be the front legs, the other the back – sorted!
I’ll be cheering for you … from Dallas 🙁 Maybe next year for me, but I’m hoping you have a good race!
Runner Susan wants Amy in more than Amy wants in.
