I’m not so crazy about running everyday, but it’s doing what I wanted it to do. On most days, I feel a lot stronger during my runs. And on the days I don’t feel stronger, I feel the same tired I felt during previous marathon training. I’m taking both of those as a sign I’m doing things right.
The daily runs have become automatic. I get up, I put on running clothes and I know that I WILL RUN, even if it just for short distances. There are several days a week I’m only running 1.5 or 2-miles and that is usually an attempt at some speed-work, 400s with some walking in between.
As far as the long slow Sunday runs go, I’m about 3-miles behind schedule on New York marathon training. I think I can get back on track this weekend. On Saturday I’m running the Tour de Fleurs 20k, but 15-miles is on my schedule so I might run a few miles before, we’ll see how I feel on Saturday.
Hey, maybe I’ll see you at Tour des Fleurs. I’m racewalking the 20k and then I’ll be out on the course looking for my Team in Training trainees. Good luck at the race and with your training!
I am impressed with your Septemberathon effort. It IS getting you back up to speed and distance ever so slowly. We’ll all be proud of you.
The Tour des Fleurs was my first (and last 10K). I’m training for a half, so maybe I’ll do the 10K as a training run. Thanks for the reminder!
You’re doing well Susan. Have a good run in the TdF, and running the extra few miles. I hope it’s not too hot.
That’s great news about Avoidance Pigeon. He’ll get to race again 🙂 If he could meow, I’m sure he would.
