October 1st can’t get here soon enough. Running everyday for 27 days (and the whole Tour Des Fleurs party weekend) is taking its fair toll. Only 3 more days! My runs this week have been tough. I have a 20-miler this weekend. I’m not looking forward to it. At all.
And that 20-miler means one thing. The NY marathon is just around the corner. 38 days away to be exact. Who else is running?
Your 20 miler might very well suck but then you will rest and then, the next time you go running, you will feel like you have legs of steel.
Keep smiling through that run and telling yourself “I LOVE long runs”. You will – it just might take a few days to know how much.
I’m not running, but I’ll definitely be there in some volunteer capacity.
Well, I will be there cheering. What is your number? Did you post it already and I missed it?? I have a ton of friends who live there and will be running. We will be there for the trials the day before, too. GOOD LUCK! You will do fine. It will be cooler than Dallas. Anywhere above Texas is cooler than Dallas! :o)
You think you’ve got it bad? My marathon is only 10 days off, and the butterflies in my stomach are multiplying!
3 more days … woo hooo
Okay so when it gets tough on the 20 miler, just think I do this everyday, I can run this next mile.
wow. I’ve missed a lot. You’ve been running for 27 days straight? That’s really commendable Susan. And it’s going to pay big dividends.
What year for NY are you talking about? This year? 😉 I’m afraid not.
Hey, lemmee ask you a question: What is the secret for running every day? What has kept you going and got you to put the runs in day after day without getting injured? Ok, that was two questions.
Don’t answer me here – do a post about what you think! I’m sure a lot of people would like to know since prevailing thought is that runners should NOT run every day and, yet, here you are.
GREAT JOB!
I will be there until you run by and then I am grabbing your sisters and shopping until you are done!!! Of course I will probably have very little money so I will just collect matches from local restaurants and packets of crackers.
i’m not running, but i live SO close by…is there going to be a meet up?? (congrats on the septemberathon!)
Wow – you’ve almost finished the Septemberathon. Fantastic! Have a good 20 miler Susan – take it easy.
No, not this year… however if someone were to pay the $2,000 airfare, I might be convinced otherwise 😉
20 miles of smiles. Just bring a buddy and it will be over before you know it!
Not running NY, but I’ll be running Chicago a week from this Sunday. Yikes!
You’ll do great on your 20. 🙂
I was thinking of running New York. They said I could.
Make sure you get ‘ol David to the meetup – he’s good for a few laughs 🙂
I’m running NYC too … in 2009 – who else is in?
already looking forward to meeting you!
Maybe one day I’ll run it, but not soon. I admire you for your journey. When you look back, you won’t remember the 20-miler, I’m guessing. 🙂
12 more days for me (Long Beach). ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
New York will be so fun. Can’t wait to hear about it. Take pics too!
Are you still alive Susan? Or are you just tired from all that running?
