Boots, they’re what’s for dinner

It’s raining and cold today. Thank goodness I have shiny new red boots to wear or I’d have a nervous breakdown. And these are no ordinary shiny red boots my friends, oh no. They are shiny red rain boots. Or at least I’m pretending like they are. They same way Britney Spears pretends like she’s a good mom.

It was sunny and warm yesterday and around mile 10 of my 15-mile run my left knee started giving me some grief. I ran another 2.5 miles and then walked it home. I didn’t feel nearly as strong as I did on my 20-miler last weekend, but I suppose I’m supposed to be tired and achy at this point into the training program. I wish shiny red boots could run those extra 2.5 miles for me.

Only 12 more days until the NY Marathon. I am now officially starting to panic.

No Fear! You’ve trained more for this event than any other so you will have a good experience. And yes – you are tired. That’s okay because it’s taper time! Enjoy.

My RIGHT knee is sore. Ibuprofin and water. Lots of water. A short jog to run out the kinks might help. I’m trying that tomorrow.
