On Wednesday I ran a fairly strong 6 miles early with Massoman. Today was 8 miles. 8 miles of knee pain. Which I’m going to ignore and pretend didn’t happen. On Sunday a 10-mile run is scheduled, but some overachievers are changing things and running 12. I think that’s called cheating. So I guess I now have to run 12 as well. That will be my last long run before the marathon. Next week are just two easy peasy short runs.
I’m not sure what to expect this time around. It’s been a long time since I’ve run a marathon; San Diego in June 2006 was my last one. I’ve trained more than I did for that race, but less than I did for the Chicago Marathon in 2005. I’m not making any time predictions this time around either because I’d only be jinxing myself.
If anyone cares to follow, I am number 35417. Now, I just need to decide what to wear. Life is a constant challenge.
*Thanks Amy, I don’t feel so old now.
Like we’re going to follow the training and not the race – AS IF!
I hope your body straightens out in the next week.
Rest rest rest. And eat eat eat.
a cute outfit is imperative. Much more important than time predictions! I wouldn’t even bother making them before you’ve chosen that outfit anyways 🙂
I’m sure you are ready and will have a blast!
Exciting!!
Good luck this weekend on the last long run. Ice that knee and think positive. 🙂
Good luck on your last long run! I’m super excited for you! Let us know if you see anyone famous, okay….lol
By the way, you said your last marathon was in June 2005?? I do remember running past you (or someone who looked just like you AND answered to the name “Susan”) on June 4, 2006. Just thought I would let you know…you must be so good that you were running in your sleep????
You’re not on the database Susan! Does that mean you don’t have to run 🙂
Have a good 12 miler. Think about how well you’ll run on November 4.
good luck! you’ll do great … I’ll be following along.
How exciting! I’ll definitely be following your progress.
Enjoy your taper !
This is getting exciting! I’ll definitely have to look into tracking you!
Best of luck and have FUN! I’ll be rooting for you!
What to wear is always a huge but fun struggle for me. Good luck, can’t wait to hear all about it.
I hear ya on the fashion dilemma. I’m hours away from my 2nd marathon in 3 weeks, and the issue is now skirt vs. tights.
It looks like it won’t be a tights day in New York so shop accordingly.
