All I wanted to do after getting my medal was go home. Not back to the hotel, but home. I missed my family, my own bed and my car. The subway has a way of making you miss your car. I was pretty nauseus after the race and the subway ride back the hotel was not pretty.
I immediately jumped into the shower to sanitize myself. I was gross. Surprisingly, only one spot of chafing and one blister. A big one though. And what would a race report be without a nasty blister picture from Runner Susun.
After a brief rest, I checked my results. I was happy with my times for most of the race. Here are the splits, it’s obvious where I started to die.
Nice blister! That is a huge one! You go, to continue with that thing. I know the cramping feeling. It sucks. Especially when your mind wants to keep going, but the cramped, unstretching muscles won’t agree to it. GREAT JOB!!!! You rock!! And you still looked great after! 🙂
I say blame it on the blister! I mean that totally has to be worth two seconds!
That’s one big blister. Congratulations for making it through!
That blister and its location look familiar to me. Oh so familiar; but I got you beat on the size!
I use to get those ALL the time on any run over 10 miles or so till I switched from Asics to Nike (due to my high arch on my right foot)
Good job on the marathon Susan; I’m just SICK over those freakin’2-3 seconds…grrrrrrrrrrr…
I am soooooo ready for lunch now. These poor blog readers of yours only get to experience that blister through the magic of the internet. They didn’t get it stuck in their face LIVE AND IN PERSON!! Poor, poor readers!
Congratulations Susun! (hilarious)
You did great out there- sounds like a really difficult course but you managed to enjoy it and pulled out a pretty great finish after all!! You are one tough girl and a marathoner through-and-through. Great job. 🙂
nice beester, seester.
yer fut dun gots an std!
If blisters are common to those shoes you wore I’d be looking at them as the culprit to change.
My, how those splits look so familiar. Well almost all of them.
Battle wounds kick ass!!!! that what doesn’t not kill us only makes us stronger.. great job & see you there next year!
Hey, you thrashed Katie Holmes (5:29:58) and she didn’t have a blister!
