I don’t know people, I’m just not feeling the love in this new template. How are those swirlys treating you? Do your eyes hurt? I’m all about the minimum and the white space, but I wanted to try something different. I’ll work this more later.
I also need to start working on getting my legs out the door and on the road. It’s either been cold and rainy or cold and foggy all week. I’ll do cold, but I don’t do foggy or rainy very well. I forget how much I have on my schedule for my long run tomorrow, but I’m sure it’s a lot. Tomorrow we’ll reach 52 degrees with a little sun. I like that forecast and it gives me no excuse to sit on my butt. Which is exactly what I’ve done all day today. Mostly because of the dinner party we went to last night, where they served five bottles of wine between six of us. FIVE. I’ve cut back on the adult beverages so much that I’m not good for any more than 2 glasses of wine these days. I’m a whimp.
Here’s a little love you can feel – pictures of Sister Runner Amy and I at the White Rock half.
While the page was loading and it appeared as if the swirelys were going to remain behind the text of your blog entry I was like “eh.. don’t like it”. BUT, once it finished loading and I see that is NOT the case, I think it’s overall it’s lovely.
Five bottles – WOW! I wish I could do that. I will find out soon enough. 🙂
Six between six would have been easier for the mathematically challenged.
The swirly things balance out the corporate look. It’s neater, more organised, and easier to read, so maybe that’s good… or am I showing my ocd side?
May the fairytale continue!
Swirlys don’t bother me and I am loving the unicorns!
Suz,
I think it is great! I just have to get adjusted to reading your words on the left side of the page instead of the right. Swirly things are soooo runnersusan.
not a swirly person. but that’s me. i wouldn’t not read your blog because of swirls.
now if your legs get swirly, SHAVE!
6 bottles could be the right fuel to run one whole marathon! Ahhh if only I were not teetotal (and if i had ….. 2 legs).
Was it a white chrstmas? Or were you on to the reds?
I like the color scheme and the masthead – but for picky me, the two columns of links on the side are a bit too much. I would compress the whole column of BTT stats and CRN links into a horizontal header or footer and remove the BDP comments so there’s more space on screen. Let’s face it – anyone who reads a Runner Susan post always clicks on the comments at the bottom of the post anyway. And we like it when there’s more space for the words of Runner Susan.
Personally I wouldn’t put all those swirly things on my blog, but then again I’m a bloke. For a girlie, I don’t see anything wrong with them.
When were you ever good for more than two glasses? I have known you for 4 (OMG!!!) years now and have never seen you do well with one and a half. Maybe you are refering back to when you were a whino and would pass out in front of those nice office building which is where Michael met you? Or is that a story I am just making up for my amusement? It’s so hard to stay in reality sometimes.
I feel it. I like it. I’m all for the change. Change is good. Photos of you and Amy at White Rock, even better.
I hear ya on the wine. I don’t know what happened, but I just can’t drink anymore. Went to the boat parade last night and had a couple glasses, no biggie. But I got home and was SICK. Like college-style. Very weird.
