I spent 2 and a half hours picking up dog shit in the back yard yesterday. I filled an entire garbage bag full of shit. It was disgusting, but I won’t lie to you, short of nearly checking myself into a mental institution, it was the highlight of my week. And if I learned anything this week, it’s 1) I love my husband, my daughter and my family so much it hurts and 2) picking up shit is easy.

God, yes, I’ve definitely wanted to skip a week. My last week was pretty horrible too… wonder if there was something in the air…
Here’s to hoping this week is better for you!
I’ve had entire months I wanted to skip. As the saying goes – this too shall pass and the sun will shine again. Really.
I would definitely like the week off from my job. Just running, cooking, reading, and futzing around… perfect.
And picking up dog poop sucks. I am dreading the snow melt, in a way. 🙂
Hope this week is a better one!
All the poop in my back yard (which is only there because of dogs that were visiting) will just have to stay there and dry and then I will just mow it. Hey, free fertilizer. Of course I didn’t have dogs that dropped elephant sized logs…
With four dogs, two of them big dogs, I’m surprised we haven’t heard you complain about the poop piles until now. Let me guess: PMS? (Poop Misery Syndrome)
I had a HORRIBLE week last week. I mean it was awful – until Friday. Let’s hope for a great week this week!
At least my freak of a cat shittes in a box 😉
get a doo doo loo! you can get fancy ones at pet stores, but i got mine at a market. just a wooden box with starter worms. i don’t know if my worms are still living, but the poo is broken down by the insects. the hessian/burlap sacks cover the poo after you dump it in the box. eliminates odour. i have never filled the box and i have two large dogs.
it beats bagging it and risking that the sack breaks or where to put it in the bin. just don’t use that new earth to grow edible plants. awesome for others.
and iiiii get excited scooping. i do. i’m sad. i think if you had a doo doo loo, you’d find the love.
I do not envy what you did yesterday. Dog stuff is not pretty!
How come I’m the one that ends up doing that at my household – I’ve got to get you talkin’ to my other half!
Oh heck no. I could not handle that much poo. I guess that’s why I can’t have a pet. Unless my honey signs a contract to deal with all the poo.
IHateToast is just so bloody practical!
You’re lucky with 1). We’ve missed you Susan.
How much poop can pooches poop?
