A classic and another one of my buttery favorites. Varietal composition: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc.
Brilliant. Deep. Ruby. Wonderful. If you order it in a restaurant it’s ridiculously priced around $120.00 or so, but you can get it online or at a nice liquor store for around $39.99. Have I mentioned how much I hate the triple mark up? Another good reason to move to Australia. Where the wine is always free. And people eat kangaroos.
Vacation report coming up soon, I promise.
May I join you…. 🙂 Welcome back and love the post on the ‘cyber-shell.’ Yes, guilty of that one. 🙂
i’m moving to Australia then.
someone forewarn the kangaroos.
Your photo is so inviting. I’m on my way.
It is???? And we do?????
Wish someone had told me about it!!
last night we had a 2004 Meeker Handprint Merlot at home with dinner…pretty good overall

Well, the wine is cheaper if not free and they do eat kangaroo, I know, I had some!!
Ohh, I’ve had the wine before and I agree with you, it is very nice. I believe there is a connection between the family that owns the winery and Walt Disney..?? And yes…I hate the ridiculous mark up as well!
Ohhhhh, vino! Yumm!
Hey… the wine isn’t quite free here. Sometimes we pay up to $20 for a really decent white!
And only the crows eat Kangaroos AFTER we’ve run them over in the country. Lucky koalas are too scratchy…
Mmmm, that photo is delish. My fave right now is the D’Arenberg Footbolt Shiraz 2003. I can almost taste it..
If you like the reds, give the Terraza malbec from Argentina a try. It won’t disappoint.
Our great wine might be cheap, but our beer’s bloody expensive!
Kangaroo is lean and healthy, but a bit tough. It’d be like you guys eating raccoon.
there are restaurants here that serve up bush tucker: http://www.benjaminchristie.com/blog/bush-tucker-restaurants-australia
