I was so excited when I finished my eight-mile run today and my watch said 1:19:12. Woo Hoo. Except a 9:52 pace was a little too unrealistic. So I sat my stinky butt down at the computer and used the g-map pedometer to figure my distance. Damn, I forgot a loop. Sometimes I forget I’m directionally challenged. I only ran 6.88 miles – which put me at a much more believable 11:32 pace. So I hopped on the PIMP and whipped out another 1.5 miles in 9 minutes 28 seconds per mile (which makes it a total of 14 minutes and 12 seconds) – I can rock a treadmill in the nice and cool air-conditioning like nobody’s business. Well, at least for a mile and a half I can.
Anyhow, to make things a little more fun today I took my camera and took pictures of the things I see on my run; all the nice and boring blazing hot whole lot of nothing but dry grass and farm animals. I feel more retail therapy coming soon. I miss the city.
Confirmed my thoughts – I’d love to go running with you. Great pics!
That donkey has a shape like me.
Nice ass.
You ran 1.5 miles in 9:28???
well, it is 9:28 average per mile . . . total was total 14:12 minutes. I guess i better make that clear.
Did you see Katie got a new do?

“more long and boring. They all look alike” made me laugh…I don’t know why, but it did.
Girl, you rock for coming indoors and running MORE. I don’t know how you do it! (I’m getting repetitive in my comments, aren’t I?)
I would spend all day running in the heat if it were that gorgeous! I’m certain you are truly a sub-10-minute-miler but there are so many distractions that it slows you down just a little bit! I mean ponies and pictures have to count for at least a minute a piece… right?!
8 miles of boredom totally outweigh 0 miles of suck (business travel 🙁 ). Every day you abuse your body is another day when you can go to bed knowing you won.
…In high school this made for ackward moments, but that’s a different story….
Nice job on the run. I was going to do 8 miles on the 8th for the virtual race, but I don’t know if I can do the distance. I haven ran since my “Near” 4 miler last friday. blech.
Flatman beat me to it.
I want a road photo with your shadow in it doing a handstand. That would be cool.
We could use some rain too.
Bonus points for doing the extra mile-plus.
