My heart is breaking a little. Isn’t she beautiful? My uterus can do good things. And now, she’s in sixth grade. My little baby, in sixth grade and taking two advanced classes this year: science and world history. A monumental achievement for a girl who’s struggled for years with academics because of her dyslexia. She wants to be a doctor someday – I’d figure she’d go for “professional blogger”, but you can’t have everything. I guess I’ll keep her, even is she wouldn’t let me walk her into school because it’s so not cool when you’re eleven.

Oh, I so want her pink watch. Is that wrong?
Good luck on your first day, Kenza!
Mine starts tomorrow. Woe is us, for summer hath departed…
She looks all grown up!
I love how she is totally accessorized!
About 83 boys at school are going to be talking about her today.
ahhhhh, first day of school.
my roommate’s a teacher so she had first day of school stuff going on ntoday too.
cute!
Suz,
We are still cool…aren’t we? Kind, sweet and cool! Kenza is so grown up and totally her mother’s daughter!
Oh, my..such a milestone. She’s a cutie. She looks ready for her new adventure.
Big step! What a cutie! I felt as if I was throwing my daughter to the wolves the first time I dropped her off in 6th grade.
Amazingly enough, against all our wishes, they seem to blossom without us! (sob!)
Is that a cell phone she’s holding??? No texting in class!
I have a few years to go, but first grade was pretty big this year with Thomas.
Nothing to add – except – I rememeber what I was thinking and doing at that age. Be afraid. Be very afraid….:)
Awwww – she is cute – all accessorized. Mine is 6th this year too. He has another 1 and 1/2 weeks yet. Schedule arrived Sat. and passed inspection…phew! The hard part is getting back to the routine — yuk! I’ll miss the relaxed M-F…..but will love my increased flexibility!
She’s beautiful! And I know … this morning, I kept thinking “First grade!!! First grade!!” as my oldest boarded the school bus. 🙂 I know sixth grade will be here before I know it!
Kenza doesn’t know how cool her parents are!
awwww….*sniffle*
She looks adorable. Like a mini-RS
oh oh oh, i know a really good vascular surgeon who is tres dyslexic. can be done, hunbun.
and why on earth didn’t you just give her a few metres head start and then run after her screaming, “KENZAAAAAAA, YOU FORGOT YOUR (insert something that would mortify her here, you know best)!!!”
Oh sheesh. She looks so darn cute, you’d have to walk with her just to be sure no boys try talking to her. 🙂 Maybe you could just drive behind her. I guess you can just be glad that she let you take her picture.
adorable! just like mom! i took a first day of school photo of my kid right thru college!
Wow! Our babies are entering Junior High together. **sigh** Where does time go?
She is. Takes after the old girl.
Woohoo. Katy is showing her downunderness – she now spells metres the correct way!
Ha, so that’s what a uterus does? They grow so fast and we try to slow down our growth.
