My friend Marta and I took the Aussies to the dog park this morning . . . and what a blast, I’ve never seen the Aussies so happy.
Oh, and I also ran 20 miles yesterday (not 24, shut up David) at an 11:27 pace. Not the pace I was looking for, but more on that later.
I run with a big group in Chicago, and our coaches tell us that the speed doesn’t matter so much on the long runs. It’s the speed work that’ll make you faster. And IMHO, the crowds on race day help as well–and Chicago’s got amazing crowd support!
Oh, happy Aussies!
Good job on the 20. Speed is irrelevant, really. It’s all about endurance.
You are gonna rock Chicago. It’s still my fave marathon, even after last year’s fiasco. It will always have a special place in my heart.
You WILL feel like a rock star. Trust me.
Ahhh.. I want a puppy so bad! 🙂
Nice of Donkey to bite the other Aussie’s head off.
20? Whatever. I need the edge of longer mileage training to keep up with your hard body.
You might think pictures like these would make me sad…but they have made me incredibly happy. Tongue lolling, water flying, herd-nipping ears…thank you for your kind words about Howard. You of all know it wasn’t just my dog, it was *that* dog. They are so special.
The fact that you ran 20 miles yesterday does, however, make me sad. Not for you, for me. I’m just trying to get my 3 in consistently. *sigh*
I love your pups. They are happy and beautiful. 20 miles rocks, good work!!
Those are some happy doggies!
do you think you’d have run better with your tongue hanging out?
