This will be the final leg torture that we video before the marathon. I can’t believe I’ve been doing these awful workouts for almost three months now. My fitness level has improved drastically because of these specific workouts – in addition to the running.
I’ve always had strong legs, I could out-squat many of the football players in high school weighing only 98 pounds – but never, that I can remember, have I ever had abdominal or upper body strength. Now I do, it’s just hidden under a muffin of midriffical whale blubber. But strength is there, believe me. And I like feeling strong. Yes, I do.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that we’ve gone down in weight these past few weeks, and the next few leg torture weeks will be very light as I taper for Chicago – Only twenty days away. Yikes.
I’d like to dedicate this final video to my friend/trainer and Master Videographer Extraordinaire, Cindy. I couldn’t have got here without you. I can’t believe I’m getting sentimental about these horrible hour-long torture sessions. I’m a very sick person. Cindy even gave me the over-used and abused paper plates to keep as a reminder of all the hard work I’ve done. Thanks Cindy, I’ll treasure them forever.
It’s a long video, but if you stick it out to the end, it will be worth your while.

Ha! I love that you can see the “no solid fuel” warning as you put… you know… solid fuel on the fire.
Ummm…did you not read where it says “NO SOLID FUEL” right on the front of your fire place??? 😉
Dang you Chubby…you just beat me to it!
Suz,
What a journey! You are going to rock in Chicago! I feel kinda sentimental about the plates. It has been such a blessing working with you Suz!
Susan has a midwestern accent.
Are you really supposed to burn paper in gas fireplaces?
🙂 Leg torture has always looked painful

I know it says NO SOLID FUEL . . . for some reason I figured the plates would burn up really fast like tissue paper.
Obviously, I was wrong.
Internet People, never put paper plates in a gas fireplace.
If I say anything to tick you off in Chicago I expect you to give me a first offense warning before hauling off and knocking me flat the second time.
Thanks.
I was thinking the same thing about the PP in the fire…but your sister beat me to it. I hope you aren’t going to stop your personal training….it seems like it has really paid off.
midwesterners don’t have accents.
I’ve been reading your posts for quite some time. I’m just a newby totally inspired by your awesomeness. Is that a word? Love the leg torture. I’ve been doing the paper plates myself! You are so strong. You are going to rock it out! Thanks for being so inspiring!
Congratulations on making it to the end of plyometric hell – well done! The definition in your tired but strong legs is obvious.
You know you’re going to miss your little friends, the paper plates. You KNOW you are!
Now what will I watch for inspiration?!
Congratulations to both you and Cindy. May you “burn up” the course in Chicago next month.
You didn’t save the paper plates? You could have hung them on the fridge or somewhere.
I think you are going to miss them when you get home from blasting the Chicago course!
Correct…midwesterners do not have accents. That’s why everyone on TV sounds like us.
Haven’t watched the video yet, but more concerned that your high school had 98 lb football players….
That last comment by psimet is funny.
From the ashes a new Runner Susan is born. Now you need a new masthead with a phoenix in it.
and I think scottish people don’t have accents… 😉
We’ll miss the leg torture. I always thought…better you than me…especially when you videotape it for us 😉
Those paper plates are strong! Just like the lilting, midwestern-talking Susan.
Well done Cindy. You’ve TOTALLY TRANSFORMED Susan, BUDDY!
