I had a ten mile run scheduled with Massoman this morning. I bailed a little before six miles because I was really tired. I didn’t get much sleep because Michael has bronchitis and coughed all night long and whatever room I moved to I could still hear him. And when he wasn’t coughing he was snoring. I know he can’t help it, but I was so tired that I really just wanted to plug his nostrils shut. But I love him, so I took pity on him and just got up at 3 AM.
After the abbreviated run I took a shower and went back to bed and slept for another three hours. I’m still tired. I feel like I’ve been run over. Now I can’t decide if it’s all the workouts I’ve been doing this week on limited sleep or if I’m coming down with something too.
Time will tell, I reckon. Now I need to reshower, because sleeping on wet hair = not such a good look for me.
This is when it pays to be a dog because they seem to sleep through anything.
My guess: the lack of sleep and hard workouts are making it easier for any stinking germ to find clear passage to Runner Susan’s body. Fight the invasion with more sleep, rest, good diet and lots of clear liquids.
Hard workouts and lack of sleep can definitely lead to increased susceptibility to those nasty germs that want to invade your body and take you down. I think you’re too tough for them. They should fear you.
i think it’s time to build him a snore shed.
Get him to sleep on his side! He’ll sleep better too.
It’s not the workouts – it’s the limited sleep, or coming down with something. I hope it’s the former.
I’ve been sleeping in a separate room from my hubby for 4 yrs due to his snoring. This past weekend we went on vacation and the first thing I did when we arrived in NYC was scout out a pharmacy and bought some ear plugs. I got the Pretty In Pink earplugs by Hearos and OMG! They worked amazing! We were on the 6th floor of the Park Central Hotel and we were able to sleep with our window open because the earplugs worked so well that I couldn’t hear the traffic and honking outside nor could I hear my hubby’s snoring! That’s saying alot because I’m a light sleeper! You may want to give them a try.
You’re probably tired from both the workouts and lack of sleep. Take care of yourself chica! You don’t want to get sick, do ya?!
Ditto on the earplugs… The pink ones are AWESOME, not to mention HAWT! I mean who doesn’t dig a chick in hot pink ear plugs? hahahaha
Some pearls of wisdom from a swine:
Cancel your next workout and get some rest Susan.
oh girl I’m with ya on the snoring thing, bless their hearts they can’t help it but you just want to strangle them lol
You were so funny, “Are we running slow? I feel like I’m running in slow motion.” I agree with Ewe the Dewd. Get some rest. This may not be very helpful but, maybe you could sleep in Kenza’s room with ear plugs.
You are obviously coming down with something. Being sleepy is not enough to tank a 10 mile run. You need Emergen-C STAT!
