After my shower I was putting on my jeans and I felt something weird – I look down and my toenail was gone. I can only image it happened on my freezing cold bike ride on Saturday. My feet were so frozen I thought my toes would break off. I can’t have this no toenail thing and I’m seriously considering sending the bike back.

Hubby needs to buy you some shoe covers….!
I think your toe nail was already dead to break off like that …I am kind of an expert in that department thanks to my screwed up toes and short-lived attempts at running every year. Buy some toe warmers (they are everywhere…LLBean, Dicks…)and stick them on the top of your toes (socks on) before you put on your cycling shoes. Makes all the difference.
It’s not the bike – it’s the running.
My feet froze this morning, too. I’m going to put my toe covers back on my bike shoes – it helps. The full shoe covers are better. And second on the toe warmers. And get hand warmers and put them in your gloves.
And DO NOT take the bike back. No, no, no. Must.keep.cycling!
Looks like my nails about a month after a marathon. My nail girl just paints the skin…good as new!
Bikes are evil. Run Baby, run.
HOT STUFF!! I love a good “gross foot” photo!!
LOL! OMG Susan I just lost the same exact toenail. I went for a pedi and the lady is like you want me to polish your skin or put a fake one?! No, just leave it blank. Then my son says mom you missed painting one.
Here is to it coming back before sandal season.
eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww, make Michael lick it!!
I’m catching up on my blog reading and just wanted to say hi! Looks like I’ve missed a lot – you’re biking and you had an awesome 1/2 marathon PR!
I blame it on the bike. Take it back!!
I (selfishly) want you to remain *Runner* Susan. No biking! 🙂
It’s the running. Bike’s to harm your toes…they crush souls.
Make that “bikes don’t harm your toes, they crush souls.”….and make you drink enough to not be able to type well anymore…
I’m in the process of losing three now, after the marathon. I always do. My feet are always horrendously ugly so I don’t care…but yours are cute!
You’ll get used to not having toenails. They are highly overrated.
do not listen to the evil voices. You can still be Runner Susan Sometimes Triathlete Susan. It’s okay. In fact – it’s awesome!
Oh yeah, thanks for sharing!
