And I already have aphids

We had to dig everything up and start from scratch so we could put in drains. With the exception of the retaining wall that was already there, we’ve done all the stone work ourselves. Which included me walking around the yard digging up rocks to line flowerbeds until I ran out and had to buy them. And FYI – after I leveled 4 tons of flagstone and shoveled 3 tons of decomposed granite – I’m not liking the patios – you can’t sweep decomposed granite – all the loose pebbles are making me insane!

It’s still a work in progress – but here’s what we’ve done so far. Now we get to start on the front yard and begin putting in the vineyard.

You have such a pretty yard. Must be fun to entertain out there!

I am SO jealous! It’s really beautiful, I love it all but the trees worked into the patio are my absolute favorite detail. And is that a hammock I spy in the very back corner? Time for you to put your high heels up and “taste test” a couple of bottles!

It looks good Susan. Maybe you can seal them with something – you know, like that slippery stuff they spray on driveways?

Where’s the tennis court?

I would say you have rocks in your head but obviously they’ve all been used to resurface Donkey’s mud bog.

Cheers.

Is this the first password protected entry? I just have to know what is behind the “curtain,” so can you shoot me the password: grapeape75@gmail — I’m one of your “lurker” regular readers.

Thanks!

I’ve been gone so I’m just reading these: we did our front path in this same way years ago, and there is a method for getting the decomposed granite compacted. After you’ve done that you don’t get all the loose pebbles. Sometimes people seal it too, but I don’t have experience with that. Let me know if you want more info. Looks great!
