I’ve been on a Merlot kick the past few days, and this is one on the nicer Merlots I’ve had in a while. I wish I had some fancy pants terms like “exhibits loads of black cherries, currants, chocolate, mocha, and caramel”, but I don’t. I just like it and you will too. I believe the 2005 vintage is out of stock, but I hear the 2006 is just as good. Around $35.00.

It’s nice to see someone not afraid to take a stand for Merlot. After Sideways came out, it really affected the sale of Merlot. Which is ironic, because the Cheval Blanc the character Miles prized contains Merlot as well as cab franc.

Back in the days when I was still consuming wine, one of my favorites was a Cab-Merlot blend. I think it was Parducci, but that was back in the early 80s so I don’t remember the label. Whatever it was, we couldn’t get enough of it!

Nice picture. :-)
