An Incoherent Short Post About Nothing

I have to admit, swimming and cycling in 106 degree temperatures is more enjoyable than running in 106 degree temperatures. Currently, I’m running  3 times a week, cycling 3-4 times a week and swimming 3 times a week. On most days I’m getting in 2-3 hours a day of cardio. My days are sucked up into a variety of things from school to work to all the work outs, but I feel stronger. Finally.

I feel strong even when I’m tired and while I’d like to give full credit to the cardio activity, I think a lot of it has to do with the new medicine I’m taking called Armour, for hypothyroidism. And wouldn’t you know it, just when I’m starting to see the benefits I go to get a refill of my prescription and the pharmacy is out. Why? Because the manufacturer has gone out of business and no other pharmacy makes Armour. I spent about 2-3 hours one day last week driving around town until I finally found a pharmacy that had enough in stock to get me through the next month. Joy. Joy.

Also, I haven’t forgotten that I owe a post about that 8-hour preventive medical physical examination. I got the results back on Tuesday and have been fascinated with the analysis. I have so much to share with all of you, Internet People. I’m hoping I’ll have that together for you by then end of the weekend. I also hope to be reporting on that new Garmin. I haven’t had a chance to take her out of the box – I hope she hasn’t suffocated.

yo! awesome that you’re doing so much triathlon training… doesn’t it feel great to have the total-body fitness that tri-training produces? i totally miss it, and you inspired me to get back to it!

How odd that such a common illness has no generic drug to counter it. Glad to hear the stuff is working for you, even if in short supply where you live.

can’t wait to hear about the preventive medical physical stuff – sounds like something I should do since I’ve never had a full physical ever.

Susan, are you effing kidding me about Armour going out of business??? I’ve been taking that for several years after being very dissatisfied with Synthroid and this is the first I’ve heard of it. I guess I need to call my mail order pharmacy or doctor asap. :(

Mrs. T is very alarmed that you report Armour is out of business because that is exactly what she takes for the same reasons.

Great to hear you’re doing so well on the training front Susan. I see your baby is doing well too!

Nice training – I’ve just started back and have taken a leaf from you and got back biking – my crap ankles can’t take running anymore :-/ Hope you find a replacement for the meds.

I take synthroid for my thyroid. They tried to give me the generic stuff, but it didn’t work. I’m always on top of my thyroid. Forced my internist to send me to and endocronologist (sp) because he refused to up my meds. Had me at 25 and the endo md took one look at me and my blood test and upped me to 100.

Great cardio training. I’m going back to the pool soon to increase my training. Can’t wait.
