At least you can put your face in the water without sucking it all in your lungs like I do! Good job, I'm impressed!

You seem to have the form and technique, the speed will come with practice. My only tip, I can't tell from the video but I was told this and it helped me. Stiffen up you hands and enter the water with your palms as facing your head, pinky goes in first. Then rotate so the palm goes first pushing back. If you keep your hand firm it helps.

If you turn your head so half of your mouth gets air (sounds weird I know), you get the same amount of air as if you would by putting your whole head/mouth out of the water. It'll stop you over rotating in the body, and you'll glide. I had the same thing, that's what my coach recommended :-)

Good job! Nice to see your switch up your breathing, good for you. Total Immersion really helps.

My only comment is cup your hand more and really pull through on your stroke in the water. I have a higher extension in my arm when it is out of the water, allowing my immersed arm more power (without rolling my body).

Keep up the good work Susan...impressive!!!

That's fascinating! You guys swim on the wrong side of lanes -- same as you drive on the wrong side of the road!

Form looks OK to me (a non-swimmer). My only tip is to pull back fast underneath and enter the water 'quietly' and glide before pulling the water back.

Oh, and another tip - choose a less dorky looking thumbnail for the video ;)

It's very hard to see. Try using an outside lane next time and having the videography walk along side you to get more info.

You look good! You might want to try thrusting with your hip in advance of extending your arm and trying to get up a little higher on your side. Make sure you keep your arm extended until your other arm is almost entering the water. If you use your hip to push forward you can generate more force against the water.

it's hard to see, but doesn't look horrible! Pamela could tell you more probly.

Get total immersion and do their drills. It really helps. And remember to keep your hands in the "Y" position!

you did 2000 yards more than I did. Yay!

So, having just gone through my own swim analysis, I will give you a not-accomplished swimmer's feedback (that's my disclaimer). If you can get an underwater video camera and tape yourself underwater, that would be even more helpful. Also, may I recommend the same accomplished swimmer analyze your stroke each time.

From the top your body position looks good, but an underwater shot would be better to see this. It looks like you cross over with your right hand. If you watch your hand entering into the water while you swim you can see if it's entering the water in line with your head or over in line with your shoulder. It's suppose to be more in line with your shoulder. Make sure you are swimming underneath of your body too so your stroke gets more umph.

www.goswim.tv is a great resource for drills and in general watching accomplished swimmers. Sometimes it helps to see what you're suppose to look like. :)

Keep swimming! It's very technique intense so it takes a while to learn. Sorry, that's not very encouraging. But you look good so far!!
