As for the barbed wire and waste tanks? Looks like they are here to stay. I love how the guy is waving in the last picture. I always make sure and wave and smile when I’m over there taking pictures – they actually believe the propaganda they are feed. And I have no clue what that giant blue circle thing going in on the Blessing unit is?
Isn’t Argyle Beautiful?

Love the Birthday Camera, can’t wait to go for a drive with you, I have some areas of mud farming over on the other side of 35 I would love for you to document.!!
Notice how they’re putting barbed wire around the CCF. I guess, they need to keep everyone out so they can’t find out what’s wrong with what they’re doing.
Heaven forbid if someone actually noticed a leak, or got pictures of it.
Man, I’m so full on the propaganda that we, the nameless and obviously souless workers are FED I’m about to burst. First they tell us we are building this place to prepare for the alien robot invasion. Then they change it and tell us it’s actually food for the giant ant colony beneath the surface. Finally, they tell us know that it’s really to weed out all the hausfraus who don’t have jobs and have too much time on their hands so they panic about silly stuff like a toxic waste dump in their backyards.
But! I know the truth. The truth is… they REALLY just tell us, “HEY SHMUCK! There is a new site in Argyle that I need you to take rocks and such to so you can earn a paycheck cause you didn’t get to marry a rich guy and sit around all day on his dime while he cheats with his secretary. Don’t worry so much about the busybodies taking pictures and posting them on the internet in violation of your right to privacy.”
Soooooo, if you have a problem with this site (and who wouldn’t really, your neighborhood is gorgeous otherwise), mayhap you should take it up with your city government who okayed it and not the low-level workers who don’t earn even $20 an hour and have absolutely no say in what goes on here. It’s not like we wake up each and every morning saying, “HAHA! How many rich fools’ perfect lives can we ruin today?” You even have George Dunham complaining about it.
Hey Toxic,
Maybe you’ve got it all wrong. Maybe some people were just ordinary folks struggling like the rest of us but they might have made some different choices, worked real hard and got really lucky. Maybe they ended up with a little bit of cash and a little bit bigger piece of the American Dream. Hey, good for them, I say. If they can do it, maybe you and I can too. That’s called hope.
So, maybe, they took that cash and invested it in a beautiful home in a school district that just happens to provide some things their kid needs. Maybe they are just happily living their lives when weird, unexplained health things start happening to them and their animals. Maybe it stinks outside all the time and stuff bubbles up from the ground. That would make it pretty hard to enjoy your little piece of the American dream. Know what I mean? It kind of screws up your property values too.
I sure know what it’s like to earn less than $20 an hour and always worry about taking care of the family. But, there was a time when I made plenty of money–not rich but plenty. I worked in the oil business. After a while I started to figure things out and see how some of what we were doing hurt other people. I had a pretty hard choice: traveling to Hawaii whenever I wanted or feeling good about myself and what I did. I quit the oil business and I sure have a hard time financially but I feel better about what I do.
You know, you really have no expectation of privacy when you are at work. They have the right to use surveillance cameras and track your every move. I never have understood why you guys think it’s alright to invade people’s neighborhoods and they cry foul when they take pictures or videos. I guess you’ll just have to suck it up and live with it. But then, you’re not even the one living in that trailer. You’re probably holed up in a nice hotel somewhere telling the guys who live in the trailers what to do.
Sharon, you are absolutely correct. My previous post was more a blow off some steam kinda thing and perhaps it was wrong. I sometimes write stuff, don’t really proofread, then just send it. It’s gotten me in trouble more than once, but it won’t happen on this site anymore. Nothing but musings and the occasional misfire, such as I am prone to provide to you the gentle reader.
By the by, I live in Arlington and go home every night, and I command no one and plan on keeping it that way.
Until next time I remain, the Toxic Avenger! Yes!
