So “All Nude All the Time” is the winner!

So, you voted, Internet People and “Running Stuff” won by 3 votes. What is this a Running Blog or something? Seriously, is the RS shoe collection so bad that it loses by THREE whole votes to come in second? Jon, did you not vote? In third place was the “Other” category – and let me enlighten you with the interesting “other” suggestions:

Wine! (hello, is it noon yet?)
run, bike, rowdy all the time.
how about a new ‘under construction’ banner with you just wearing a tool belt? (creative, if anything)
nude can be done tastefully (and stretch marks cannot)

And in fourth was “All Rowdy All the Time”. I’m glad some of you love Master Rowdy, but I’m secretly glad you voted RS shoe collection before him, even if it was second.

So, it’s all good and well that you’ve voted, but guess what? I have the flu. I have a headache. I have a sore throat and I am partially delirious and really bored of doing nothing but staring at the ceiling. With all that in mind I decided it’s “All Unicorns All the Time” as the new masthead. Maybe it’s the fever or perhaps I’m just feverish all the time, but let me enlighten you with my inspiration from The Magical Unicorn Collection:

If you ever had a reason to question my sanity, now you don’t. Yes, this near 40 year-old-woman sits around in front of her computer and take pictures of her gravity-defying hair in unicorn poses. It’s a gift, I know you wish your hair could defy gravity too.

So the masthead will change with boring “Running Stuff” (maybe) just as soon as I feel well enough to do something more creative than unicorn stuff.

Another question? Do you Internet People like it on the top or the way it was on the side? I’m undecided, so I’m doing both right now. And if you like the unicorns, maybe I’ll keep them. FOREVER!

Fun with Daily Makeover

I know Internet People, I’m a bad blogger – so instead of writing something really awesome to make up for it, I played around on dailymakeover.com for a few hours. It’s hysterical, but I was pretty impressed with the application. The lipstick feature needs a little work, but the gloss and liner is pretty cool. You can do it all, including accessories. I particularly love how you can slide the after over to compare your “natural” face to the “makeover” face.

What’s your favorite? I hope everyone is well and hope you had a good laugh one me!

I’m having hair crisis. I have in-between hair. It’s not long, it’s not short, it’s just blah and I can’t decide if I should chop it off or let it grow. I absolutely love Katie Holmes hair right now, it’s so sophisticated and smart. I just don’t know how it would look on me since I’m A) blonde, B) old C) not the beautiful, but brainwashed, 105 pound Katie Holmes D) have frizzy, fluffy hair and E) live in a really humid climate. What do you think? Chop or let it grow?

I have a bad habit of letting my hair get to a certain length and then just chopping it off out of frustration. I’ve been known to do it with my own office scissors. Because of this, I gave my hair stylist, Tiffany, strict instructions to not let me do that again. Ever. Even if I begged and begged. And she hasn’t. And I’ve begged. She’s a good stylist that girl.

During my recent trip to Indiana I went to visit my old hair stylist and good friend Christine. I hadn’t seen her in ten years and she wants Sumy Designs to design her new website . . . one thing led to a martini and before I knew it, I had short hair.

I think I put the same ‘no cut’ restriction on Christine ten years ago, but she must have forgotten.

I am so bummed. And, enjoy the zit.

I need my eyebrows done, my hair colored and a crane to remove the giant pimple on the side of my face. I also ran out of deodorant about 3 days ago. And I am way hairier than a any female should be allowed to get. I have disturbingly neglected anything related to personal hygiene to get this house through inspection. And guess what? It passed – even with some minor structural damage and a swarm of wasps that we agreed to take care of. But now, the buyers are backing out of the contract because they really want a pool. Don’t they know they can just swim when it rains? Seriously, that is way more fun than a pool. Oh, and I have no tan. Which is really just wrong.

Always a Blonde

A long and slow six miles was the course of the morning. A good bottle of wine, a nice Irish Crème was the course for the night before. And despite the lack of hydration, sleep and fuel, this was probably one of the most fun six-mile runs I’ve had in a while. I ran and laughed and felt a tad bit more like Runner Susan, thanks to Cindy and her friend Deena.

I know I sound like a crazed PMS suffering lush – but on most days I am still struggling with motivation. With each day my legs feel stronger, but mentally I am not at the place I once was. The changes in my career and this charming uterus have taken more than their fair toll from Runner Susan. Just know I am taking stellar precautions to ensure there are no long-term psychological effects.

And if the new hair color doesn’t work its magic and I remain this large and lifeless lump of a Runner Susan, a lot more wine and whisky just might be in order.
